FORT DODGE
A military post established 8 years ago, on the Arkansas river, in the central part of Ford county, 5 miles from Dodge City, the county seat and nearest R. R. station, and 300 from Topeka. Daily mail. Population, 150 men, officers and soldiers, U. S. A.; Mrs. Emma F. Marshall, postmistress.
By the time the 1884-1885 Polk’s Gazetteer and Business Directory was printed, mail had been discontinued.
