Dennis R. Garcia, recipient of the prestigious International Latino Book Awards Author Award, and acclaimed author of the award-winning Marine, Public Servant, Kansan and the recently released Las Madres: Latinas in the Heartland Who Led Their Family to Success, is bringing his inspiring stories to the Ford County Legacy Center for an exclusive book signing event on February 19, 2025.
The event celebrates the release of Las Madres, a powerful tribute to the courage, resilience, and love of Latina women whose stories embody the American spirit. Through three generations of women—Candelaria, Rafaela, and Irene—Garcia chronicles the triumphs and sacrifices of a family whose roots in the Great Plains offer an authentic glimpse into the universal struggles and victories of families everywhere.
“Las Madres is my tribute to the incredible strength and resilience of the women in my family. Their stories are woven with sacrifices and triumphs that reflect the experience of so many families,” Garcia said. “Through this book, I hope readers will see their own stories reflected and find inspiration in the legacy of love and perseverance that binds us all.”
